Magnetic Stripe Cards

Magnetic stripe cards, also called magstripe cards, are used today for loyalty, membership, access, payment and gift cards. Blank plastic mag stripe cards are fully customizable with the use of a desktop ID card printer or central issuance system.

Mag cards, made of PVC or PVC-PET plastic material, are the typical credit card size of 3.375" x 2.125," with a mag stripe on the back, either High Coercivity (HiCo) or Low Coercivity (LoCo).

HiCo cards are usually black in color and are encoded with a magnetic field of 4000 or 2750 Oersted (Oe). LoCo cards are usually brown in color and are encoded at a low-intensity magnetic field of 300 Oersted.
