Meet the Executive Team at IdentiSys

Michael R. (Mike) Shields, company Chairman and founder, spent 20 years in the computer industry with Burroughs/Unisys in a number of successful assignments in sales, marketing, distribution and management. Prior to founding IdentiSys, Mr. Shields was in the identification industry with Datacard for nearly eight years. Hired at Datacard as Senior Vice President for Sales and Marketing in the Americas, Mr. Shields moved on to creating an internal new ventures company before accepting the position of President, Datacard Enterprise Company, one of the primary lines of products and services that IdentiSys represents.

Michael R. Shields II is the President and CEO. Michael previously served as the Executive Vice President of Sales and Distribution at IdentiSys prior to his promotion to President and CEO in October, 2015. He started his career at IdentiSys in 2001 and has held positions throughout the organization in shipping, marketing, product management, service, and sales to gain a thorough knowledge of all aspects of the business. Michael has over 20 years of experience specializing in the Identification industry. Mr. Shields is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas with a bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurship.

Joseph (Joe) M. Wright, Executive Vice President of Sales, joined IdentiSys in 2006 after a 10 year career at FARGO Electronics (HID Global), a global leader in secure technologies for identity card issuance printers and systems. Mr. Wright has overall responsibility for the Company’s sales operations. Joe has over 30 years of successful experience in sales, marketing, product management and accounting, including 25 years in the identification marketplace. Mr. Wright received his Master’s Degree in Business from Northern Illinois University and an Associate Master’s Degree in Competitive Strategy from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Tony J. Dick is the Chief Financial Officer. Tony joined IdentiSys in 2007 as CFO. He was previously Vice President of Finance at Fargo Electronics, Inc. At Fargo, he helped lead the company through many initiatives, including an initial public offering, a secondary public offering, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and integration of financial systems/processes after Fargo’s acquisition by Assa Abloy. Prior to Fargo, Mr. Dick worked for the accounting firm Larson, Allen, Weishair, LLP. He received his B.S. in Accounting and Executive MBA from the University of Minnesota. Mr. Dick is a member of the MN Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Chris Sinnen is the Executive Vice President of Service. Chris joined IdentiSys in 2000 as a Customer Engineer and since has served as the Director of Field Service and Operations and the Service Operations Manager. Mr. Sinnen has over 25 years of field service experience with 21 years in the identification and security industry at IdentiSys. Prior to IdentiSys, he was with Advanced Mailing Systems.
